We’re Cultivating A Safe Church

In a world where the vulnerable continue to be exploited, the Church must take action in safeguarding the physical, emotional and spiritual health of every person in its care. To help equip all staff and volunteers, we require annual safety and prevention training.

It is our utmost priority to cultivate a community and culture that is safe and healthy for everyone and to be equipped to provide trauma-informed care for all.

Spiritual Abuse

Our Professional Development for Clergy encompasses crucial training in trauma-informed care, spiritual abuse prevention, and creating a holistic safe church culture.

CHild/Youth Protection

Our Child and Youth Protection Program helps safeguard children and youth from any form of misconduct. We use a proven 5-step process:

  1. Screening

  2. Training

  3. Interacting

  4. Monitoring

  5. Responding and Reporting

Sexual Harassment

Our Sexual Harassment Prevention Training helps our church not only avoid issues of sexual harassment but cultivate a work culture that is safe and healthy for everyone.

Report Misconduct

Our Diocese’s and parish’s whistleblower policy provides a way for people who observe or experience wrongdoing in a church setting to know they can and should report it—and how to do so.

If you experience, observe, or suspect misconduct please contact any of our clergy:

shawn@rezaustin.com | ryan@rezaustin.com | courtney@rezaustin.com

Or contact our diocese

Bishop Todd appointed the Rev. Canon Kimberley Pfeiler as our Ombudsman for the diocese. Anyone in a C4SO church must report abuse, sexual harassment or any other wrongdoing to the Diocesan Ombudsman (469-766-1272) within 24 hours of becoming aware of the incident. She is your first point of contact. If you are unable to make contact with the Ombudsman in 24 hours, call (615-968-5348) and email (admin@c4so.org) the diocesan office for assistance in connecting with her. The Ombudsman will then ask you to complete this Whistleblower Reporting Form to provide as much information as possible. She will also guide you in  issues of state reporting and notifying the Rector, who will then notify relevant local persons.
